Applications
For case-hardening. Lower duty parts: exles, fitting keys, etc.
Physical properties (avarage values) at ambient temperature
Modulus of elasticity [103 x N/mm2]: 210
Density [g/cm3]: 7.85
Soft Annealing
Heat to 650-700oC, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 207.
Carburizing
880-980 oC, water, oil, air, hot quenching 150-250oC or case hardening box.
Core hardening
Temperature: 860-900oC.
Surface hardening
Tempertaure: 720-820oC.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 150-200oC.
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1150-850oC.
