Physical properties (avarage values) at ambient temperature

Density [g/cm3]: 7.85
Soft Annealing
Heat to 640-680oC, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 245.
Normalizing
Heat to 850-880oC, cool slowly.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 840-870oC followed by water quenching.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 430-500oC.
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1050-850oC.
